I am an interdisciplinary storyteller and PhD student in the Sociology department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I received my M.A. in Cultural Studies from Sabancı University and B.Sc. in International Relations from Middle East Technical University.  In addition to being interested in many fields of human geography, my writing dwells on urban studies, haunting and ghosts, unearthing spectrality, belonging and friendship, embodiment and affect, encounters with memory, everyday violence, time and temporality, politics of witnessing, writing ethnography, and positionality.
